The Level Party & Groovy Groovy

By

It’s midsummer 2017 and stars are aligning. Two of your favorite crews, The Level Party & Groovy Groovy, are joining forces to bring you the best of vibes across two stages. Groovy takes over the dank ruins of Knockdown Center, highlighting a special US debut. Daniel Martin-McCormick, aka Ital, bringing us his new live project Relaxer in a proper rave setting—every bit as dark, trippy, and claustrophobic as his productions. Warming up the room are residents Akanbi, Yogic, Ronan, Teleself, and Vesna bringing that special Groovy flavor. Level takes over the courtyard, welcoming one of our favorite producers in 2017—D. Tiffany, from Vancouver. Her wavy house tunes will suit sunset nicely. Local legend Turtle Bugg closes out the scene, while Andrew D, Onkel-S & good pal NK Badtz Maru set the vibe with an extended 3 hour B2B. Food served all day. Come ready to rave.

Summer Frenzy

By

MIXPAK and Tryna Function present a very special party named SUMMER FRENZY, featuring dancehall star SPICE who is flying in from Jamaica for an undoubtedly crazy live show, performing hits “So Mi Like It”, “Indicator” and “Sheet”. She is joined by rapper/R&B artist Tink, whose Winter Diary mixtape series has made it into Rolling Stone top albums list, and is set to release her debut album with Timbaland later this year.

On DJ duties are Jamaican producers & selectors EQUIKNOXX hot off the heels of their excellent album “Bird Sound Power”, Culture Clash winners MIXPAK SOUND SYSTEM (feat Dre Skull & Jubilee) as well as another performance by move making Staten Island rapper SQUIDNICE.

For the afterparty we move indoors, where Bala Club’s KAMIXLO joins us from London to headline, alongside Jersey club innovator DJ JAYHOOD, as well as NY club stalwarts TYGAPAW & BJ BEBE.

Originally created by Irvin Benitez as an alternative to the nightlife scene in Washington Heights, New York and to fill the daytime party void, Brunch Bounce was spawned Memorial Day Weekend 2012. What began as a month to month day party amongst friends, grew from hundreds to thousands of revelers; expanding beyond its place of origin into the rest of the city that never sleeps, with the sole mission of providing pure unadulterated fun.

Bouncing around (no pun intended) from borough to borough and packing out some of New York’s most esteemed night clubs and venues.Built on the ethos of come with a good vibe, a smile and your dancing shoes, Brunch Bounce exists to provide a judgement free zone where you can let all your inhibitions go and just have fun on the dance floor with your friends and Brunch Bounce family while listening to some of the best DJ’s in New York City play out some of the best music. Covering every genre from House, Disco and Techno to Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae and even mixing in some Latin, Funk and More. We cover all the bases from sun up to sun down.

In 2014 Brunch Bounce conceptualized and produced The Greatest Day Ever! Festival; A cross-genre music event that sold out with 7,000 attendees. Over time, this once small social event has now roved to Miami, aboard the Mad Decent Boat Party and Mysteryland USA.

Max Wittert
Lorelei Ramirez
Sean J Patrick Carney
Elizaveta Shneyderman
Steve Girard

We’ll have both of Ana’s books for sale at the event, plus some special, one-night-only giveaways. And for the first time in the history of the world, Ana presents an original Mix Your Own Chex Micks station. Yes, you read that correctly. Make sure to bring your Instagram account with you.

To be guaranteed a copy of Ana’s book, please visit the Social Malpractice website for preorder:

The Truth About Pangaea II is Social Malpractice’s 35th artist book publication and features contributions from Erin Schwartz, Elizaveta Shneyderman, Brandon Reese, Charlie Hankin, Emily Harrington, Lauren Molina, Lorelei Ramirez, Margalit Cutler, Mikey Heller, Max Wittert, Sean J Patrick Carney, Steve Girard, and Thomas John Gamble.
The Truth About Pangaea II continues comedian Ana Fabrega’s brutal quest to expose and articulate the hard truths about this damnable planet that we call home. No presumptive certainty is safe from her scathing critiques as she boldly shreds apart what we think we know about our oceans, the shrouded history of the Girl Scouts, the advent of the automobile, “Big Denim,” carbohydrates, and social media. Featuring intros, forwards, prefaces, and intros to the prefaces by notorious dissenters Erin Schwartz and Elizaveta Shneyderman, plus paradigm-shattering illustrations by a who’s-who of today’s most divisive political satirists, The Truth About Pangaea II will rattle your bones until you beg to have your Woke Card revoked permanently.
Illustrations by: Brandon Reese, Charlie Hankin, Emily Harrington, Lauren Molina, Lorelei Ramirez, Margalit Cutler, Mikey Heller, Max Wittert, Sean J Patrick Carney, Steve Girard, and Thomas John Gamble
