CLR Records boss Chris Liebing needs no introduction: the German artist is an essential presence in the modern techno landscape.

His sets balance a heaving, molten sound with masterful restraint, bringing a coiled intensity to huge stages. As a producer, he’s responsible for a string of dancefloor weapons, and as a curator has a keen ear for the next wave of producers.

Kerri Chandler takes over our main hall. The deep house pioneer is one of the genre’s most revered practitioners. His richly expressive productions, enthralling DJ sets and flair for performance remain unparalleled. He returns to Knockdown Center following a masterclass in the Ruins this summer. Chicago’s Ron Trent is a one of Chandler’s most esteemed peers: his darkly soulful sound is grounded in the house music of his hometown, but has just as many fans in techno. He remains an exemplar to this day.

If at any point we feel it is unsafe to continue with the event, updates will be issued. We encourage everyone to get vaccinated prior to attending. (If possible, given the shortage.)

Horse Meat Disco is purely for dancing. Please be mindful of others’ boundaries with their bodies and minimize skin-to-skin contact to lower the risk of transmission. Dancing with clothing on and only with trusted friends are good ways to reduce risk.

If you are displaying any symptoms of monkeypox, we emphasize that you sit this one out and stay at home. There will be more Horse Meat Discos, but we must keep our community safe.

The symptoms of monkeypox include the tell-tale lesions and rash, as well as flu-like symptoms: fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, exhaustion, sore throat, nasal congestion, and cough. It can spread through skin-to-skin contact, respiratory droplets, and touching infected objects.
