On Oct 4th, Italian synth master Alessandro Cortini headlines the Ruins.

A leading voice in the modern experimental music landscape, and a longtime member of Nine Inch Nails, his haunting minimalist works tap into eerie, penetrating depths. His modular synth pieces draw upon states of liminality and edge-of-dream semi-consciousness, calling to mind the unsettling strangeness of empty hallways, vacant offices and icy streets at midnight. Yet within his sometimes harrowing explorations can be found a latent romanticism. Experimental guitarist Rachika Nayar joins, conjuring spectral traces and maximalist ambience. She returns for the first time since her Outline performance in 2021.

November 9th 2024, Jeff Mills headlines Knockdown Center. Mills is one of the most essential and innovative artists in techno, full stop. A founding member of Underground Resistance, a prolific solo producer whose works include some of the genre’s most canonical entries and a DJ of draw dropping virtuosity, Mills has defined the scope and artistic promise of techno as much as anyone. His performances redefine DJing, mixing ultraprecise beat matching with live 909 drum machine programming. Many practice the dark art of techno; Mills lives it. As he said himself, “I know now that the term ‘techno’ is irrelevant. It is what is being said with the sound of techno that is most important.” Knockdown Center is proud to host one of the most visionary artists of our lifetime.
